About Nicola Noble Tuition
Nicola Noble tuition was founded in 2008.
The service offers parents and students a friendly and personal approach to Mathematics tuition and 11+ preparation.
Nicola has worked in schools at both Primary and Secondary level. This experience means that Nicola has a thorough understanding of the relevant syllabi and of current teaching methods.
11+ preparation is delivered in small groups of up to 6 children who are the same academic year. Girls and boys are tutored in separate classes due to the different entrance exams used by South Wilts Grammar School and Bishop Wordsworth's School. Girls are tutored in KS2 English, KS2 Maths and Verbal Reasoning with the content tailored towards the GL Assessment examination used by SWGS. Boys are tutored in KS2 English, KS2 Maths, Verbal Reasoning and Non Verbal Reasoning and their content is tailored towards the CEM exam favoured by BWS. Homework is given each week to reinforce subject knowledge and to practise the skills necessary to pass.
Tuition takes place at Nicola's home. Girls' classes are Tuesday 5-6pm and Thursday 4-5pm. Boys' classes are Tuesday 4-5pm and Thursday 5-6pm.
Exciting news for September 2020 11+ tuition intake.
Nicola Noble Tuition is now offering a new way to study for your 11+ examination: an online access course of slideshow presentations with accompanying workbooks.
Each slideshow covers the same material as the weekly face-to-face tuition. The presentations explain each topic and offer guided examples and warm-up questions for you to try. Work through the presentations then go to the accompanying workbook for more independent practice. The answers for the workbooks are all included at the end of each presentation so you can be sure that you are on track.
Purchase the presentations and access them instantly online. The accompanying booklets can be printed directly too.
Supplement the learning with competitively priced CGP practice books, 10-minute tests books and the new practice question cards.
A weekly homework swapping service will also be available. These mirror the homework packs used by the face-to-face clients. They contain a mixture of each of the subjects covered by the GL examination (girls) or the CEM examination (boys).
So, if the “new normal” isn’t conducive to face-to-face tuition, or if your circumstances are better suited to a home-based service, Nicola Noble Tuition will still be on hand to help you.
The service provides parents with professional tuition and an honest opinion of their child's progress and ability. Nicola helps students fulfil their potential in a friendly environment, instilling in them the confidence to excel in all their studies.
